Statement in Solidarity with Efforts for Racial Justice
November 25, 2014
The Eastern Massachusetts Abortion Fund stands with Michael Brown’s family and the people of Ferguson in outrage at the continuing disrespect for Black life evidenced by a grand jury’s failure to indict Darren Wilson yesterday. As Dani McClain wrote at The Nation, “the murder of Black youth is a reproductive justice issue,” because Black parents deserve to be able to raise their children without the deep and real fear that their children will be killed by those who are ostensibly charged with keeping them safe.
The EMA Fund is in solidarity with the efforts for racial justice being undertaken in Ferguson and beyond. Please join a protest hosted by Black Lives Matter Boston at 7 p.m. tonight in Dudley Square, if you are in Boston, or find an event in your area. Connect with the Organization for Black Struggle and Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ), or donate to an organization on the ground if you are able.
